Dublin Fire Brigade has issued a warning on bonfires ahead of the Halloween season after being called out to a "stash of tyres and timber" alight in Kilbarrack.
On Tuesday, Dublin Fire Brigade shared images of a fire they attended this month where tyres and timber were set on fire in a bonfire, which then spread to nearby trees. They wrote: "This month Kilbarrack firefighters were called to a #Halloween bonfire stock pile alight.
"A "stash" of tyres and timber on fire spread to nearby trees. The fire was extinguished with a high pressure hose reel."
It's exactly two months until Halloween, but the spooky season is already well underway. Dublin Fire Brigade has issued a warning about how people can keep themselves safe, particularly around bonfires.

Bonfires and fireworks can result in nasty injuries for children and adults alike, which means Halloween tends to be the busiest night of the year for fire brigades. Last year, two fire stations in Finglas and Phibsborough rescued a person from a house fire.
Gardai were also out in force last Halloween seizing bonfire materials with a whopping 300 tyres and 300 pallets confiscated.
This week, Dublin Fire Brigade warned that they have already spotted youths collecting bonfire material for bonfires on Halloween. They wrote on Twitter: "Tyres being collected for #Halloween bonfires in August.
"Unfortunately tyres on fire produce thick black noxious smoke and cause damage to our environment," they added. Dublin Fire Brigade have issued help advice and tips to keep people safe during the Halloween.
A spokesperson said: "Our Firefighter/Paramedics want to enjoy Halloween as much as you do, so here is some advice you can take to help stay safe:
What can you do?

Fireworks
